Kitchen Renovation in Littleton

When I met Tami and Brian, they had recently moved from Evergreen to be closer to work. As nature enthusiasts, they were thrilled to find a home in a quiet Littleton neighborhood that backs up to a trail and bubbling brook. The views from their living space are stunning but the dark and cramped kitchen had to go. Tami and Brian are not only excellent chefs, but they also love to entertain. In their custom kitchen design, they not only wanted a light and bright kitchen but also high-end appliances, lots of storage space and room to entertain. As a kitchen remodeler and designer, I also had to make sure the new kitchen blended with the other spaces in their lovely home.

Opening Walls and Ceilings

This was not a small kitchen renovation. To lighten up the space, we had to take out a wall and raise the ceiling, anytime we do that we never know what we are going to find. This time, we had to veer slightly from our original plan, but like what so often happens, the new plan worked out better than expected. We ended up with a stunning stretch of countertop, the perfect spot for prep and still room for guests to sit and chat with Brian while he cooks. In addition, the cabinet space underneath houses everything they need for every season of entertaining.

Light & Bright

In a kitchen renovation, when going for light and bright, you typically think white or at least light kitchen cabinets. But in this kitchen, we didn’t go typical. With the stunning views of the landscape and all the light we created by opening up the room, we could have fun with color. We worked with Tami and Brian on the design to select a stunning dark green (Salamander by

Benjamin Moore) that complemented the new timeless black appliances. The showpiece of the space is the stunning Zline range with a custom black and gold Hoodsly hood complemented with two new windows on either side to bring in even more natural light.

Finishing Touches

It is the finishing touches that take this open concept kitchen to the next level. We accented the custom kitchen cabinets with gold rectangular Top Knob pulls and Calacatta Abezzo countertops. And then to make everyday chores feel luxurious, we picked the most beautiful Brizo Litze two tone faucet. Tami and Brian said prior to the kitchen renovation, they hardly hosted guests. Now, they have dinner parties at least once a month if not more. The newly remodeled kitchen is everything they wanted.

Cher & Co Blog

I specialize in bath and kitchen design and remodeling because those are the rooms we spend the most time in, and when it comes to renovation, they can have the greatest impact on your home, well-being and family life.  One of the best parts of my job is meeting with clients, seeing their spaces, hearing their wishes, knowing the challenges and then working to make their design and renovation dreams a reality. It’s like putting together the most beautiful puzzle. In most cases, the result is better than any of us ever imagined. In the end, my clients (and their precious pups!) become treasured members of the Cher & Co family.
